In 1987, after years of working n the oilfields of Mississippi and Louisiana, Robert Roland relocated to the West Texas region he now calls home.
By 1988, Mr. Roland’s knowledge and expertise in the oilfield, from down-hole to production, evolved into a full-time consulting business. Meanwhile, TDR’s contract pumping business continued to expand. As the oilfield continued to prosper, TDR Services grew to become the largest contract pumping service in a five county region of West Texas. In 1992, TDR Services represented up to 15 companies while operating with Mr. Roland at the lead with the assistance of 2 or 3 contract pumpers.
TDR Services continued to provide contract pumping service thru the hard times. When the price of oil plummeted to $12.00 per barrel, Mr. Roland tightened the reigns and continued to offer services to the customers of TDR Services.
Once again, West Texas began to boom. In 2006, Mr. Roland, at the request of his customers whom he had been consulting for in excess of 10 years, expanded TDR Services to a full oilfield service company. TDR Services began roustabout services in addition to the pumping and consulting services. TDR Services became incorporated and began rapidly growing.
In 2007, Rhino Linings, Inc. revealed its new commercial/industrial division. Mr. Roland was approached by Rhino Linings to become their West Texas dealer and applicator. After much research and consideration, TDR Services opened its Armor Coating Company providing commercial and industrial linings to the oil and gas industry. Sales opportunities are available for applications throughout the United States and Mexico. TDR Services’ Rhino Linings division has achieved nationwide recognition from the manufacturer and is currently ranked #1 in the Southwest and #3 in the United States.
Today, TDR is a driving force in the local community employing forty-nine employees and offering services to Scurry and surrounding counties.
